your most likely right, they do have plenty of rattle snakes around there. i always make sure to make a lot of noise so i don't surprise one. *shudder*

I know this is going to sound weird, but this sort of looks like those tiny models of buildings that go with the train sets people buy, except much older. The colors and the way it feels like everything was placed there perfectly for the moment.

Or rather, frozen in a moment, old and rattled.

I like it a lot.

and no that's not weird at all. there's a technique I've seen people use that by using a very shallow depth of field it makes life-size objects look like miniatures. every once in a while I seem to do it by accident. :D

I like how clear this photo is. It's like a "frozen" moment at a time when there should be a lot of movement. I think it must be cause of the sky... A cloudy weather usually means it's windy and with grass this high, nothing is still!

there actually was a nice little breeze, but on this photo for example the shutter speed was 1/800 - pretty fast :D
